MISuperFlatTrack series to launch Sunday with first practice session; Best flat track deal in the Midwest at great facility State-of-the-art Jackson Speedway adds flat track motorcycle racing to its schedule of national karting races and supermoto track days JACKSON, Mich. (April 21, 2010) Midwest motorcyclists have been fortunate this spring with the unseasonably warm weather and are itching to ride flat track. The wait is no longer. This Sunday, April 25 head to Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Michigan for the first MISuperFlatTrack practice session. MISuperMoto.com and Jackson Speedway have recognized the lack of a Midwest state-of-the-art, low rider entry cost facility by launching the 2010 MISuperFlatTrack series with both practice and race dates. Besides riding the bugs out from the winter, flat track riders will receive real timing results. Jackson Speedway has transponder equipment that will be used this Sunday to help flat trackers continually improve. Additionally, the facility has a professional track crew and grooming equipment, and the location is easily accessible for riders from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Ontario. Jackson Speedway sits two miles south of I-94 in Jackson, only two hours from Detroit and four hours from Chicago. Michigan has long been known as the mecca of flat track racers with many of the national champions coming from our state, said Dave Duprey, owner of MISuperMoto.com. “After talking with racers the past few years, I’ve found that there was not an organized effort to put on a race and practice series at one facility that is low cost. So, I worked with Jackson Speedway to make this happen. We will have the events under the same organized schedule with safety always in mind that has made MISuperMoto respected by riders across the Midwest. Listen to a Pit Pass Radio interview with Duprey from April 20 about the new MISuperFlatTrack series and the Michigan SuperMoto Championship at http://www.pitpassradio.com. In 2009, the Jackson Speedway owners updated the racing surface, making it fully capable of a flat track series. The surface has 15-inches of clay base and 6-degrees of banking for a pool table smooth surface. The MISuperFlatTrack season will start with two practice rounds that begin this Sunday, April 25 and then on June 13 the racing series gets underway. The first practice begins at 1 p.m. (gates open at noon) with rider entry fee of $30 for unlimited track time. Crew and spectators are free at every practice this year. The first race on June 13 will have eight classes, including Pro-Am with a cash purse at each event. Racers will not have to pay for licenses, memberships, club dues and insurance. Racers who compete with MISuperFlatTrack will pay a $35 entry fee (including transponder) for the first class and $15 for each additional class at every race. It is clear the affordability of the MISuperFlatTrack at Jackson Speedway.
